Register Ready – New Jersey’s Special Needs Registry for Disasters” allows New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers and associates an opportunity to provide information to emergency response agencies so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.

Welcome to the Hunterdon County Department of Health.  Our mission is to prevent disease, promote healthy lifestyles, and protect the health and well-being of all residents and visitors of Hunterdon County.  The staff at the Department of Health is a multi-disciplinary group:  Public Health Nurses, Registered Environmental Health Specialists, Health Educators, Entomologists, and Infectious Disease Specialists.  This team works together in providing a healthy community for people to live, work and play. 

Hunterdon County was named the healthiest county in New Jersey two years running in a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation study of vital health factors that influence health.  Learn more about that study here www.countyhealthrankings.org/. Residential Bulk Drop Off On Saturdays In Hunterdon County Is Cancelled Until At Least May

Hunterdon Health Department Alerts Towns: ‘Be Careful About Fill Delivered To Properties’

Hunterdon County’s Department of Health has sent an advisory notification to all municipalities in the County, warning of the delivery of potentially contaminated soil or ‘dirty dirt’ disguised as clean fill at construction, development and residential sites.

Health Department Director Karen DeMarco stated, “The Hunterdon County Health Department has received reports of potentially non-compliant soil being offered as clean fill in Hunterdon County. In some cases, fill is being offered free to residents online. READ MORE...
